Khartoum, August 8 (SUNA) - The Minister of Water Resources, Irrigation and Electricity Mutaz Musa has met with Siemens International Company high-level delegation led by the member of the Board of Directors who is in charge of the Electricity and Power Generation Sector, Ms. Lisa Davies, in the presence of the German Ambassador in Khartoum and the Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The minister welcomed the visiting delegation, praising the company's cooperation through the resumption of work in Sudan before the lifting of the economic embargo on the country. Musa reviewed the features of Sudan's electricity strategy until 2030, revealing completion of the project at Garry and Port Sudan sites and conducting a technical survey of all the units operating in the generation stations as well as providing detailed studies on the state of the units required to increase readiness and reliability. For his part, the delegation of Siemens expressed pleasure on resuming work in Sudan, announcing the necessary support for the electricity sector and the desire to engage into all energy projects in the country. It is noteworthy that Siemens is now working on the construction of the country's largest thermal power station at Garry and Port Sudan to produce about 900 megawatts of electricity.
